Riccardo Varini & Department of Design of Università degli Studi della Repubblica di San Marino
DDC is an international research unit that operates in the frame of the Department of Design of Università degli Studi della Repubblica di San Marino.
It is a place of experimentation between people and territories. An interdisciplinary space for comparison, research and applied action.
DDC comprises researches, projects, activities of mapping, recovery and enhancement of multiple identities, material and immaterial heritages, cultural and social values of traditional, new or hybrid communities, in order to actively participate in processes of change of near and far places, looking at non-dominant, eccentric, sometimes marginal, but not marginalizing economies.
Community Design was born in 2015 thanks to 15 years of research experiences in the Mediterranean area and in many areas and countries of the South of the World: Madagascar, Morocco, Lebanon, India, Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Senegal, Rwanda, Banglasdesh, Vietnam and others.
For Mediterranea 19 DDC presents the work of the alumni Jari Lunghi & Vittorio Solleciti developed within the Design department of the Università degli Studi della Repubblica di San Marino.
