Location

Palazzo Rota-Ivancich is an exquisite example of a Venetian noble residence. Situated in the heart of the city, just minutes away from Saint Mark’s Square, Rialto and the Fondazione Querini-Stampalia, this 700-square metre building, distributed over two storeys, is particularly suited for cultural exhibitions, concerts, and conferences. Its construction dates back to the 16th century, while its plan is attributed to Sansovino. In the 17th century, it was purchased by the Rota family, already proprietors of a nearby building. The building complex was then extended to engulf the adjacent palazzo, probably belonging to the Pasqualigo family, hence developing along an L-plan. The section with the entrance on calle del Remedio still presents the structure of the central hallway from which stem the richly decorated monumental halls. The façade on the side of the calle maintains its original aspect, while the one over the rio conserves only its doorway.

It belongs from the beginning of 1800 to the Ivancich family which improved  a signifiant international cultural life, frequented among several artists by  F.Tommaso Marinetti, founder of the "Futurismo" and the writer  Ernest Hemingway
In 2009, this prestigious estate was reopened to the public; this allowed for the further standardization of the plant engineering, paving the way for simpler exhibition installations. Palazzo Rota-Ivancich, with its central position and easy accessibility, is a splendid and versatile location for any kind of art exhibition.
Palazzo Rota-Ivancich has hosted the national participation of Mexico in the 2009 and 2011 International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia editions (receiving an average of 20,000 visitors per show) and dring the Biennale of Art 2013 hosting the exhibit "Pablo Picasso-Pan Lusheng"-A dialogue with ceramics" (Shandon University of Art and Design, China and Centro Internazionale Italiano per le Arti e La Cultura-Turin-Italy).
The palace  also has been utilised as set for many international films (Commissario Brunetti on 2012 and Marco Polo on 2014).

The Palazzo has many suitable spaces, the ground floor, with 200 square meters, has a big room and a water door that gives the possibility of easily load and upload materials, equipment and any items requiered for the setup.
The first floor, with  500 square meters, consist in 8 different spaces that are aligned providing a very comfortable hallway for the spectators to admire the productions.
